Teacher Position

Job Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and experienced teacher to join our after-school program in Ontario. The ideal candidate will create a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for students, helping them continue their learning journey outside regular school hours. .

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Develop and deliver lesson plans that align with Ontario’s education standards, focusing on enrichment activities, academic support, and skills development.
  • Homework Assistance: Provide individualized or small group support for students who need help with homework or classwork.
  • Classroom Management: Ensure a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment, maintaining control of student behavior and resolving conflicts as needed.
  • Student Support: Provide additional academic support to students who need help in specific subjects or areas of development.
  • Parent Communication: Keep parents informed about their child’s progress, achievements, and areas where they may need extra support.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other teachers, after-school staff, and school leadership to ensure a cohesive learning experience for all students.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
  • Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification or in the process of obtaining it (preferred but not required).
  • Previous experience teaching or working with children in an after-school or similar setting is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of the Ontario curriculum and ability to adapt content for after-school enrichment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both children and parents.
  • Ability to foster an inclusive, engaging, and positive learning environment.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willing to obtain it).
