HSK Test
The HSK is an international standardized test that assesses the Chinese language proficiency of non-native speakers. It is officially administered by Chinese Testing International (CTI) and recognized globally for education, employment, and immigration purposes.
Test Purpose
The HSK measures learners’ ability to use Chinese in daily, academic, and professional settings. It serves as:
- A placement tool for Chinese language programs
- A qualification for studying in Chinese universities
- A credential for job applications requiring Chinese communication skills
AMC Test
The AMC (American Mathematics Competitions) is a prestigious series of mathematics contests organized by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA). It is designed to develop and recognize problem-solving skills in middle and high school students worldwide.
Test Purpose
The AMC helps students:
- Strengthen logical reasoning and mathematical creativity
- Gain experience with competition-style math problems
- Prepare for advanced contests such as the AIME, USA(J)MO, and international olympiads
The AMC is also widely used by schools and enrichment programs as a benchmark for advanced math ability and academic excellence.
CEMC Test
The CEMC contests are math and computer science competitions created by the University of Waterloo. They are written by students across Canada and internationally. The contests help students develop problem-solving skills, challenge strong learners, and prepare for advanced math competitions.
Test Purpose
1. Develop Problem-Solving Skills
2. Provide Enrichment for Strong Learners
3. Benchmark Student Ability
4. Prepare for Advanced Competitions
Many contests (Pascal, Cayley, Fermat, Euclid, CSMC, CCC) help students prepare for:
Canadian Math Olympiad (CMO)
International contests (AIME, USAMO equivalents)
Canadian Computing Olympiad (CCO)
5. University Applications
For high school students, strong results—especially in:
Euclid Contest
CSMC
CCC (Computer Science)
They are often considered favorably by selective university programs, especially the University of Waterloo.
6. Support Schools & Learning Centres
7. Promote Enjoyment of Mathematics
